What is baptism

Baptism is a symbolic act that dates back to before the time of Jesus. Jesus Himself was dipped in the waters of the Jordan River by John the Baptist. Before Jesus returned to heaven, He commanded the twelve disciples to go into all the world and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Spirit.

This teaches us that baptism is a symbol of our rebirth in Christ, a clear way for us to say before God and His people “I have decided to follow Jesus”.

Every few months or so, someone at our church will ask to be baptized. We baptize new believers in Christ, or folks who have recently rededicated their lives to Him. If that fits your story, we’d love for you to tell us more so that we can connect with you and set up a time for your to participate in this symbolic act of obedience to God and His Word.
